The 2017 Denver Post Pedal The Plains Bicycle Tour, presented byViaero Wireless, is a great way to conclude Colorado’s cycling season! The 6th anniversary of PTP, Friday, Sept. 15-Sunday, Sept. 17, will take cyclists through the host communities of Kersey, Keenesburg, and Brush Colorado and through some great educational and entertaining stops along the way. Some route highlights for 2017 include: The Wild Animal Sanctuary; Auer Bird Valley Hunting Preserve; Ch2E Tire Recycling Center; Cooksey Farms; Bijou’s Canals and Reservoirs; and Chapin Dairy Farm.
The Denver Post Pedal The Plains Bicycle Tour is produced in partnership with the Governor’s Office and the State of Colorado. This Tour strives to strengthen community ties by fostering individual connections and fueling economic development by bringing tourism to the eastern plains, and giving locals the opportunity to educate others on their town and businesses. This one-of-a-kind annual cycling event began in 2012 and celebrates the agricultural roots and frontier heritage of Colorado’s Eastern Plains. Described by the Governor as “a ride for the rest of us,” Pedal The Plains seeks to engage riders of all abilities, from seasoned cyclists to first-time riders, in an educational and recreational experience.
