Congratulations to the 2024 Denver Post Colorado State Spelling Bee Champion

Congratulations to Aditi Muthukumar, the 2024 Denver Post Colorado State Bee champion! On Saturday, March 9, 2024 the 8th grader from Hulstrom Options K-8 in Northglenn spelled TECHNICALITY correctly in the 30th round to win the coveted Colorado title and trophy and an all-expense paid trip to the Scripps National Spelling Bee near Washington D.C. This is the second year in a row that Aditi won and will be representing Colorado at the national competition.

It was a great afternoon of spectacular spelling from the 14 finalists from across Colorado. They went round after round until we had our 3rd place winner, Aadhya Muthukumar, a 5th grader also from Hulstrom Options, and our 2nd place winner, Rebecca Jerison, a 6th grader from Challenge To Excellence in Parker.

More that 270 schools across Colorado started the 2024 competition off with a competitive online spelling and vocabulary test on March 4th and the top scorers advanced to the oral rounds at Sturm Hall on the University of Denver’s campus.
