This annual tradition, started in the early 1900s by The Denver Post, takes 800+ ticketed passengers up the rails on a steam engine train to Cheyenne for a grand ol’ day at Cheyenne Frontier Days. Train fans from across the county and the metro area come to experience a day of fun and the joys of riding a train pulled by the only operating steam engine in the country, the Union Pacific 844. The day includes a breakfast and dinner on the train, a parade in Cheyenne, a catered barbecue lunch, and tickets to rodeo.
